The Spencer County Visitors Bureau has introduced new weekend packages to attract visitors and increase overnight stays during the upcoming fall season. Eight Fall-O-Weekends will take place on Saturdays and Sundays this September and October.

The Visitors Bureau decided to launch Fall-O-Weekends because the county has a lot to offer visitors during this season. The weekends will feature fall scenery, activities such as horseback riding and visiting wineries and a pumpkin patch, new Halloween events like Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" at Santa Claus Museum & Village, and more.

Spencer County hotels and other lodging facilities will offer packages that include an overnight stay and two to three fall activities bundled together to make it a convenient and full weekend for visitors.

"The area has a lot of visitors during the busy summer months and Christmas season, but we want to offer packages that make it easy for guests to take advantage of the many attractions and events that occur during the cooler fall weekends," says Melissa Brockman, executive director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau. "Guests can get away for the weekend to enjoy special events and outdoor activities during Fall-O-Weekends."

More information about Fall-O-Weekend packages will be announced closer to the fall season. The weekends will start after Labor Day in September.

Spencer County is home to nationally known attractions such as Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort, and Lincoln's Indiana Boyhood Home with national and state parks. The Visitors Bureau encourages guests to stay overnight and visit the many attractions, shops, and restaurants.
