A Dale man was arrested on drug charges in Pike County Monday.
An Indiana conservation officer was passing through the Sugar Ridge Fish and Wildlife area when he says he noticed a vehicle parked by a lake on the state property.
As the officer approached a rock ledge area of the lake most commonly used, he noticed four individuals around what appeared to be a campsite. Upon seeing the approaching officer, one of the individuals alerted the others to the officer’s presence, but the officer was able to detain all four subjects.
Debris in the area suggested illegal drug activity. The Pike County Sheriff’s Officer, the Deputy Fire Marshall and a second Indiana Conservation Officer arrived to assist. As a result of the ensuing investigation, 24-year-old Brian D. Wedding III was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic needle.
