Obama sign in Perry County defaced with racial slur | Crime
Perry County Sheriff Lee Chestnut says an ‘Obama for President’ sign was defaced with a spray-painted racial slur, just over a week ago. The sign on Indiana 237, has since been taken down and replaced.
Perry County Democratic Party Chairman Dale Groves says everyone is entitled to their own political opinion, but that there is no excuse for this type of message and vandalism. Chestnut says this act could be considered a hate crime, if a suspect is caught and the county’s prosecutor, Chad Acchiardo, deems it as such.
Chestnut also encourages anyone with information regarding this case to contact the authorities.
