Two men were arrested early Tuesday on meth related charges after officers responded to a disturbance call at Stone’s Motel in Dale.
Indiana State Police say a preliminary investigation reveals that at approximately 1:30 a.m. troopers from the Jasper Post along with Spencer County Deputies responded to Stone’s Motel, 410 S. Main Street, Dale for the report of several men fighting in the parking lot.
An Owensboro man is in jail after Indiana State Police say he led them on a chase through Spencer County that reached 95 miles an hour.
Troopers say they originally pulled 37-year-old Jeremy Ammons over on 231 Thursday night about 10:30 because they believed he had false registration and he failed to signal. The trooper said that during the traffic stop, he smelled alcohol on Ammons' breath.
Scammers are using a new variation of an old method of conning seniors out of their savings.
It is a variation of the well-worn “lottery scam” involving the con man calling up his victim -often the elderly- and telling her that she is the lucky winner of a million dollar lottery and a brand new car (Lexus or Mercedes).
In an effort to reduce injuries and deaths resulting from crashes on Indiana’s roadways, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) and the Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving is joining 250 state and local law enforcement agencies to launch Operation Pull Over Blitz 67, “Click It or Ticket”. The Indiana State Police will also participate in the Click It or Ticket enforcement effort.
Indiana’s 2011 Click It or Ticket effort is taking place through June 5, covering the heavily traveled Memorial Day holiday.
