The official Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours for Perry County communities tonight are as follows:

Tell City~ 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Troy~ 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Cannelton~ 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

All Hallows Eve celebration set for Santa Claus Museum & Village

The Santa Claus Museum & Village is holding its first annual All Hallows’ Eve celebration on October 13 and 20, from 12:00pm CT to 8:00pm CT. Admission is free and includes a variety of family-friendly events.

Featured activities include a jack-o-lantern scavenger hunt, and pumpkin carving and decorating. Tours of the historic 1880 Santa Claus Church will be offered every hour, and special exhibits will be featured in the Santa Claus Museum throughout the day. In addition, Indiana ghost stories will be told around the bonfire and a variety of food samples cooked from recipes collected in the new Santa Claus Museum Cookbook will be available. Hayrides will also be offered in partnership with Santa’s Stables.

Looking for something fun for the family this weekend?  There will be a weekend of The Nightmare Before Christmas–themed fun at Santa’s Candy Castle in Santa Claus including an outdoor pumpkin patch, a trivia contest, coloring contest, and family games with great prizes including the chance to win a life-sized Jack Skellington.

Check it out Saturday, September 29 8:30am-5:00pm and Sunday, September 30 from 8:30am-2:00pm (all times Central).  All activities are free.

Youth event at St. Augustine Oct. 6

The 175th Anniversary of St. Augustine Church Youth Gathering (Girls vs. Boys) will be held on Sat., Oct. 6 starting at 11 a.m. and ending with Mass at 4 p.m. 

There will be fun, games and food, as well as a guest speaker on health relationships & lifestyles.

The event is open to anyone 8th grade through college age.  It’s totally free and friends are welcome.

Pumpkin patch opens Saturday at Family Roots Nursery

A new pumpkin patch opens this Saturday along the Dubois/Spencer County line.

There’s no charge to tour the grounds at Family Roots Nursery and see the fall flowers including homegrown mums and pumpkins.  You can see thousands of pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, colors and sizes.

Pumpkins start at $.33 each & go up to $25. Sampling of Apple Cider takes place all fall as well.  Several local made baked goods & home décor are also available for visitors to purchase.

Biggest Loser contestants coming to Perry County

Northern Indiana residents Roy and Chris Pickler, who appeared on the most recent season of  NBC's The Biggest Loser, are coming to Perry County on a nationwide tour to tell their story and help others make the difficult first steps to a life of health and fitness. The weekend events are in conjunction with the beginning of Everbody’s Fun and Fitness Center’s second session of the Biggest Loser contest.

On this tour, the Picklers have completely different presentations to share with different age groups and audiences. The weekend schedule of events includes the following:
