Santa Claus Christmas Celebration plans set

The 2011 Santa Claus Christmas Celebration kicks off on the first weekend of December with holiday-themed family activities and events.

“We celebrate Christmas all year long, but the town goes all out during December,” says Melissa Wilkinson, executive director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau. “With the lodging packages and special events going on each weekend, the Christmas Celebration is a great way to experience the season.”

This celebration full of family fun will be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the first three weekends of December. Holiday events and traditions throughout the area include:

Fall Fun Fest at Lincoln State Park Saturday

Lincoln State Park is hosting a fall fun fest this Saturday with activities for the entire family. The event features pumpkin painting, hayrides, kid crafts, and more activities at the Spring Shelter in the park.   Hayrides cost $1 per person and pumpkin painting is $3 per pumpkin.

The River Cities Coin Club will be hosting their fifth annual Fall Coin Show at the Perry County Indiana 4-H Center in Tell City on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to  4:00 p.m.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  Admission is free.

River Cities Coin Club show set

River Cities Coin Club show set

The River Cities Coin Club will be hosting their fifth annual Fall Coin Show at the Perry County Indiana 4-H Center in Tell City on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.

Expected are coin dealers from Kentucky and Indiana.

Dealers will be displaying U.S. and world coins and currency for sell and trade. River Cities Coin Club meets at 7:00 PM on the third Thursday monthly at the American Legion Home in Cannelton.
