SANTA CLAUS, IN (WFIE)- Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus has invested millions of dollars into renovations at its campgrounds. Soon, construction will be complete on their new cabins and a water park.
Wednesday is officially opening day at Lake Rudolph Campgrounds and management says this could be one of their best seasons yet, as they unveil some brand new renovations.
Lake Rudolph's Dave Lovell says about $4 million has been invested in the park to build brand new cabins and a new water park in the center of the campgrounds.
Lovell also says the existing swimming pool is being repainted, and a new parking lot and bath-house are being built as well.
Construction has been put behind due to unfavorable weather, but that these new amenities will be worth the wait.
"22 brand new Rudolph's Christmas cabins, that'll add to the 30 that we already put in, in the last two years. We've got five new waterslides going in that we're calling Santa's Splashdown Waterpark," Lovell says. "It's really exciting, lots of neat things going on here at Lake Rudolph."
If construction goes as planned, Lovell says the new cabins should be open in just a couple of weeks, and that the new water park should be open by mid-June.
