Gasification plant in the hands of the high court | News
Economic leaders in Spencer County are reacting to the arguments that took place on Wednesday before an Indiana House Committee.
Lincoln Land Economic Development Director, Tom utter was at the hearing about the proposed coal gasification plant.
The house panel heard testimony from several plant opponents, including Vecteren.
Supporters talked about the economic impact of new jobs.
"We feel that the deal was made, and opponents are merely attempting to find a way to negate an existing agreement," says Utter. "We would love to see the project move forward."
Both sides have asked the Indiana Supreme Court to review the contract.
If the High Court rules against the deal, the plans for the plant will have to start over.
