Buzzard Roost Overlook access road closing for culvert repair

Hoosier National Forest officials have announced that starting Monday, July 11, the Forest Service Road accessing the Buzzard Roost Overlook (Road number 1165.030) is closed for repairs. The road is expected to reopen before September 5.

Russ Christensen, Civil Engineering Technician, said that a culvert in the road collapsed and has to be repaired.

Santa Claus picks up $75,500 in funding for multi-use trail

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) awarded $4,355,000 in federal funds Friday to five communities in the Vincennes District that applied for Transportation Enhancement (TE) and Group III Local Public Agency (LPA) matching grants.

The Town of Santa Claus will receive $75,500 in TE monies for their Bike/Pedestrian Multi-use Trail. 

Representatives from eight communities within the Vincennes District made presentations to a panel at the District this month.  Projects were scored by the committee and sent to Indianapolis for final INDOT approval.&nbs
