Windell's Cafe in Dale was just one of the businesses impacted by changing traffic patterns in the area  The restaurant had been serving homecooked meals in the heart of Dale since 1947.  The building at 6 W. Medcalf is now for lease. 

Owner and operator Darrell Jenkins tells 14 News' Emily Mieure that customers still stop by who haven't been there for awhile, confused as to why the long-time eatery is no longer in business.  Jenkins says business was dropping off when he decided to close.  He believes that changes made to US 231 that diverted traffic away from the restaurant is part of the reason.   He says other businesses in Dale have also been affected by the change in traffic flow.
