State Road 66 to close in Cannelton as reconstruction continues

Work continues on the State Road 66 (S.R. 66) roadway reconstruction project in Cannelton and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that State Road 66 will be closing.

Beginning Wednesday, May 16, contractor’s crews will close S.R. 66 from State Road 37 (S.R. 37) east junction to State Road 237 (S.R. 237).  The actual point of closure will be on S.R. 66 (Seventh Street) in Cannelton between Madison Street and S.R. 237.

The Indiana Department of Transportation  is advising motorists there will be temporary lane restrictions on Interstate 64 in Warrick, Spencer, Dubois, Perry and Crawford counties. 

INDOT herbicide crews will be applying spring treatments on I-64 from S.R. 61 (Exit 39) to S.R. 66 (Exit 92).  Crews will begin on Tuesday, April 10.  All lanes will be affected in both directions.  All lane restrictions will take place from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., local time each day.

INDOT is advising motorists there will be temporary lane restrictions on Interstate 64 (I-64) in Warrick and Spencer counties.   

Beginning Monday, March 19, INDOT crews will be performing maintenance work on I-64 from State Road 61 (Exit 39) to State Road 162 (Exit 63).  Work will continue through Wednesday, March 21.  It is anticipated all work will begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time and be complete by 3:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.  All lanes of I-64 in each direction will be affected during this time.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says State Road 66 from SR 62 (Sulpher) to SR 70 (Derby and from SR 70 to SR 166 (Rocky Point) are back open again.  Rising waters had caused the closure of those roads last week.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces rising waters have caused the closure of roads in Perry County.  

The closures will remain in effect until waters recede. The following sections of roadway have either been closed or INDOT is advising motorists to use caution around these areas of high water:

State Road 66 from State Road 62 (Sulphur) to State Road 70 (Derby) and State Road 66 from State Road 70 (Derby) to State Road 166 (Rocky Point)

The Indiana Department of Transportation is advising motorists there will be temporary lane restrictions on Interstate 64 in Dubois and Perry counties.   

On Wednesday, February 22, INDOT crews will be performing maintenance work on I-64 from State Road 162 (Exit 63) to State Road 37 (Exit 79).  Work will begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time and be complete by 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.  All lanes of I-64 in each direction will be affected during this time.
