Road work scheduled for Hoosier recreation areas

Hoosier National Forest officials announced that starting Monday, September 26, the Forest Service road accessing the Indian Lake boat ramp would be closed to all traffic. The road will be closed during weekdays for approximately two weeks while drainage problems are corrected.  The road should reopen by October 7.

Blue Bridge will get route number change when re-opened

The KY 2155 Ohio River Bridge – known locally as the “Blue Bridge” and the Glover Cary Bridge in downtown Owensboro – is closed for a deck rehabilitation project.  When it reopens, the bridge will have a new route designation.  It will become the KY 2262 Ohio River Bridge.

Blue Bridge project on schedule

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says a summer rehab project on the Blue Bridge in downtown Owensboro continues on schedule with about 3 weeks of work remaining.  The 71-year-old structure, also known as The Glover Cary Bridge, has been closed for the deck rehab work since July 5.  The bridge normally carries about 8,500 vehicles across the Ohio River each day in downtown Owensboro.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDot) are tentatively planning joint walk-through inspections for several Ohio River bridges for September 6, 7 and 8.

Road to scenic overlook in National Forest re-opens after culvert repair

The Buzzard Roost Road is now reopened for public use after a culvert collapsed and had to be replaced. The road has been closed since mid July.
